What do you do?

I’m a social media manager and coach, helping health and beauty businesses build their brand through social media! I specialise in Facebook and Instagram and offer social media management and 1:1 coaching. I have recently created a free facebook group to support health and beauty businesses with their social media. I share social media trainings on how to use it effectively for your business!

Top tip for someone who wants to start a business

If you can make a living out of doing what you love then absolutely just go for it! I hated the job I was in and took me AGES to pluck up the courage and just do it, but it was the best decision I ever made. I was so unhappy in my old job. When you build something that's all yours, it’s an amazing feeling. So, just do it and stop wasting time doing something other than what you love.

Your must have app for business

Ooh, there’s many but it’s got to be CANVA to design things.. It's so easy to use, I would definitely recommend it.

The best thing about being self employed

There’s so many! I would say the best thing has got to be that I choose the hours I work, and also where I work from. If I fancy an afternoon off or a morning off then so be it, its my choice! (Not that I actually ever do that!)

The hardest thing about being self employed

There can also be a few of cons of being self employed like doing your own accounts (eww) and it can be very lonely sometimes. The worst I would say is that there’s no guarantee of money and it’s up to you to make it which can be a scary thing!

How do you stay motivated?

I’ve had to really work on my mindset! It’s hard not to doubt and criticise yourself but working on my mindset daily has really helped keep my head up and believe I can do it. I invested in a business coach which is probably the biggest investment that I’ve EVER made but without the encouragement and guidance over the past few months, I’d have struggled! Also, the fact that I rely on myself to make money and I love what I do, keeps me motivated!
